WASHINGTON, D.C., June 13, 2025 — Today, Chet Wade, communications director for Partners in Wildfire Prevention, released the following statement regarding the Trump administration’s recent executive order on wildfire prevention measures:

“Partners in Wildfire Prevention is encouraged by the Trump administration’s commitment to making wildfire prevention a priority. More than 29,000 wildfires have been recorded in the United States during the first six months of 2025, impacting more than a million acres and communities in every corner of the country. Americans need action from our federal government to feel safe and protected from the threat of dangerous wildfires. We hope this executive order will encourage Congress to act and pass the Fix Our Forests Act. The current patchwork of wildfire prevention measures is not working for states. A comprehensive, national solution is needed to protect Americans in every state from dangerous wildfires.”
